Women’s Outlook – the weekly intersectional feminist radio show hosted by Cheryl Morgan, Yaz Brien and guests. With a diverse range of interests and backgrounds, we celebrate women’s achievements and all that makes Bristol great. Tune in for a local view on everything that touches women’s lives.

Cheryl is an award-winning science fiction critic and editor who has her own publishing company. She has been with the Women’s Outlook show since 2013. Cheryl also works as a diversity trainer, specialising in gender issues. Besides books, she loves to talk about feminism, art, food, history, travel, and cricket. Being Welsh, her religion is rugby. Cheryl has lived in Melbourne and San Francisco. Her musical tastes run mainly to soul, funk and reggae, but you can also find her playing blues, jazz and rock’n’roll.

Yaz Brien has been involved in grassroots organising and social movements for the last two decades, bringing a queer, anti-racist and feminist perspective to all the work they do. They have self-published numerous articles and booklets on topics such as migration struggles and climate justice, as well as appearing in Race Revolt and No Condition Is Permanent. Yaz joined the Women’s Outlook show in early 2017, bringing their love of all musical things from grime to folk, queer pop punk to Asian underground.

Co presenter of the Rise Women show which is aired on Monday’s and repeated on Sunday.

A chance meeting with co founder Lynn Mareno in the green room of a TV comedy in 2013, gave birth to the idea of Rise a social enterprise, which was established after a discussion about the lack of visibility of black businesses on the high street. The organisation specialises in providing opportunities for those businesses to promote what they do to a wider audience through organised events, exhibitions and on our weekly radio program on Ujima 98fm, who we joined in 2015.

Lynn Mareno is part of the Risewomen partnership who present the Monday show, Risewomen on Ujima radio since May 2015

Co – founder of Rise, a community social enterprise org founded in 2013 which along with her co presenter, Sandra Gordon, promotes black businesses by holding an annual awards ceremony .

She is a community activist that likes to be involved with community projects and events that support the African Carribean heritage community of Bristol

She also runs her own complimentary business as a Counsellor, Wellness coach and transpersonal body Psychotherapist .
