Colourful Radio Wins Fresh 12 Year DAB Deal. We Need Your Support

We have won a fresh DAB broadcasting deal from our DAB platform owners. Before we go ahead with it, we need your support to raise enough money to broadcast on the platform.

Your support will help us to:

  1. continue to keep you informed and up-to-date through our news, current affairs and entertainment programmes
  2. advocate or ‘rep’ on your behalf,
  3. be the ‘hub’ for you to turn to when you need it
  4. while also entertaining you with the great music you love – Soul, RnB, HipHop, Gospel, Reggae, Soca and so on without apology or else without sticking our music at graveyard hours

Colourful Radio is the only legal commercial radio station left in, and owned by, our community; we are the new breed; we’ve learnt from past radio stations; we’re skilled and tooled up for the new radio landscape; we want to remain independent; and we want to stop the erosion of our music, our news, our views, our talent, our media. Could this be the opportunity to build up our own, together?

Colourful Radio and CaribDirect join forces for community benefit

colourfullogo-300x75

In business news. Following much negotiation and discussion, the popular UK radio station Colourful Radio and UK Caribbean online market leader CaribDirect Multi-Media are pleased to formally announce their pledge to work together for the benefit of the African Caribbean Community in the UK and Caribbean.

The main aim of the partnership is to engage with both the UK Caribbean business community including High Commissions, Tourist Boards and airlines as well as the general UK Caribbean Diaspora to facilitate increased communication geared toward enhancing trade and investment opportunities.

The collaboration will also see the promotion, display and broadcast of key cultural and social events taking place across the Caribbean. Additionally CaribDirect.com will have a live voice each Monday morning on the Colourful Breakfast Show (7am to 10am) when Caribbean lifestyle and business issues come alive.

Colourful Radio’s Founder and Commercial Director, Mr K Kusitor MBE said: “our listeners love to hear news and stories that are Caribbean-oriented. This is reflected in the large number of Caribbean descent listeners to the station. No commercial radio station in the UK caters for this market as we do and by this new partnership we will be able to do better for our Caribbean families, friends and listeners.”

CaribDirect’s CEO David F. Roberts has expressed, ‘It’s a good day when two diverse media organisations can establish common ground and collaborate in a highly competitive market but it’s a great day when two cultural media houses commit to partner for the benefit of their respective audiences, under difficult market conditions.’

The new Colourful Radio / CaribDirect partnership will announce projects planned for the next year in due course.

ABOUT

CaribDirect Multi-Media Limited

CaribDirect Multi-Media Limited founded and managed by Chief Executive Officer was established in June of 2009 following the discovery of a glaring media vacuum between the media of the Caribbean and the UK Caribbean Diaspora media. The USP of the company is to use information, education and entertainment as the principal media to engage the UK Caribbean Diaspora about matters critical to the development of Caribbean people on both sides of the Atlantic.

Colourful Radio

Founded by Mr Kofi Kusitor MBE, Colourful Radio was formally launched in 2006 as the UK’s only dual format commercial radio station, mixing topical conversation with music. The station started in 2004 as one of the world’s first ever internet audio streams. For more on the station’s history, visit www.colourfulradio.com/about
