CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – Celebrating Buchi Emecheta

We’re looking for London-based volunteers with a passion for all things Africa to join the team for a joint event celebrating the life & work of the renowned British Nigerian writer Buchi Emecheta, on Saturday 3 February at SOAS.

The event will include a curated installation of The Life and Times of Buchi Emecheta, panel discussions, workshops, performances, music, dancing and Nigerian food.

Our volunteers tell us that the experience is valuable for gathering skills, having fun and meeting new people (and amazing writers and speakers, including Leila Aboulela, Bernadine Evaristo, Bibi-Bakare- Yusuf, Carole Boyce Davies, Veronique Tadjio, Irenosen Okojie & many more!)

Write to us by 19 Jan if you’re interested – ras_events@soas.ac.uk. More info here: http://africawrites.org/about/volunteer/

Presented by The Buchi Emecheta Foundation and Omenala Press, in partnership with the Royal African Society, Africa Writes, Centre of African StudiesIgbo Conference, City University & Afrikult. Supported by Arts Council England.
