DELEGATES will participate in the Nigeria Presidential Election 2019. Together with the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation and other organisations, we shall monitor, celebrate, and mock elect the Nigerian president for the first time in the history of Nigeria Diaspora.
Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Europe in collaboration with several pro-democratic organisations globally will on 16 February 2019 participate in the Nigeria Presidential Elections from the Diaspora. NIDO takes lead as the official organisation facilitated by the Federal Government of Nigeria to represent the interest of all Nigerians in the Diaspora.
The yearning of Nigerians in the Diaspora to participate in the election of its leaders has been a long-held aspiration of the estimated 1.2 million eligible voters in the Diaspora. After many years of lobbying the Federal Government of Nigeria to pass into law the rights of Nigerians to vote from the Diaspora, this participation, the first of its kind heralds the new Nigeria Diaspora engagement.
